Your first evening in Starlight Wardens, step by step: how to get in, what Haven is, your first run and what comes after.

How do I get in?
You need VRChat, which is free. Open the Starlight Wardens world from its page. You can play on a PC in VR (the main way to play), on a PC at the desktop with mouse and keyboard, or on a Quest. You arrive in Haven, the town between runs. Choose your language where you arrive.

What is Haven?
Haven is the town between runs. Follow the gold marker up the path to the Rift Gate, where a run begins. On the way you pass the Starforge, where your first forge is free; the Armory, where your weapons and gear are kept and worn; and the Training Yard, where dummies take your swings and a rack holds shields to try. Every board explains itself when you walk up to it. Haven keeps the kettle warm.
Welcome to the Starlight Wardens beta, Warden: follow the gold marker to your free forge, on the path up to the Rift Gate.
Try a shield in the Training Yard first. It takes a minute, and the habit pays off all game.

What happens in my first run?
At the Rift Gate you pick a land and a difficulty and press OPEN THE RIFT. Everyone who is ready goes in together. A run is a string of waves with no last one. After each wave you pick a boon, a bonus that lasts for the rest of the run. After every tenth wave comes a checkpoint. Press On for more, or return to town with everything you earned.
Follow the gold marker to the Rift Gate and press OPEN THE RIFT.
First Light: until your first star (wave 20) or level 15, monsters deal you much less damage.

What should I aim for next?
Aim for your first star by clearing wave 20 of a land. Then try a harder difficulty, bring friends and learn what your weapon kind can do. The pages below say how each part works.
