Starlight Wardens guide
Controls
Starlight Wardens is made for VR first, with Quest 2 and Quest 3 Touch controllers in mind; other controllers work too. Desktop is the fallback, and it works. These are the words of the menu's Controls page.
In VR
- Strike: Blade, heavy, spear
- Swing your weapon through a monster.
- Strike: Twin
- Swing either blade through a monster. Each cut throws a short flying cut.
- Strike: Bow
- Point your bow at a monster, hold the trigger and let go.
- Strike: Bow, drawn with two hands (a setting)
- Bring your other hand to the bow, pull the trigger, pull back and let go.
- Strike: Staff
- Point your staff at a monster and pull the trigger.
- Strike: Wand
- Point your wand at a monster and pull the trigger.
- Skill
- Pull the off-hand (left) trigger to cast your skill.
- Pull either trigger to cast your skill.
- Dash
- Squeeze the off-hand (left) grip to dash.
- Jump twice quickly to dash.
- Shield
- Hold the shield on your left fist toward a glowing monster to stop its blow.
- The Warden's menu
- Hold the right stick up for one and a half seconds for this menu; stick down closes it. While it is open your triggers press it and do not fire.
- Your health
- Bring your off (left) hand up to your face to read your health.
- Fine-tune the grip
- Fine-tune the grip in Haven: point both fists where you look, hold both triggers two seconds.
On desktop
- Strike · Skill · Dash
- Press the left mouse button to strike.
- Press Q or the right mouse button for your skill.
- Press F to dash.
- Shield
- Hold E to raise your shield toward where you look.
- The Warden's menu
- Press M for this menu, and M again to close it. While it is open a click presses it and does not strike.
- Auto-attack
- Press T to switch auto-attack on or off: your weapon then attacks where you look, as fast as holding or clicking would.
Left-handed? The Settings board puts the weapon in your left hand; the off hand is then your right.
